2nd Annual Run

So I failed miserably at having the run again.  I am not
going to lie....time got away from me and before I knew it,
it was the end of April.

So don't you fret...we will be having the Lymphoma Run
again but in October when it starts to cool down.

And it is good for all my friends who are having children in the next month
or so.  They have no excuse (you know who you are).  And
this gives me time in the summer to plan.

We raised $425 last year and
I hope to double and maybe even triple that.

Go for a run today.
See you in October!

(just as a side note...they changed the colors
from purple to red and black...so
I am excited to design the shirts!)

EASTER TIME

I love Easter time.  I love the weather, the Easter Pageant,
cadberry eggs.  When we were little
my Mom always made holidays special...along with the Easter egg hunt of course.
It was a big deal when we were little.  But let's be
honest...it was more about who could get the most eggs.

We had a great Easter but it is always more fun with kids.  Lots of food,
sugar, egg hunting, temper tantrums, and cute boys like Nixon:

And Jack...

egg hunting...

Nixon was so cute because he didn't care about how many
eggs he could get but just eating the candy inside.  So cute.

Temper Tantrum #1

Temper Tantrum # 2 (Jack)

Sugar overload...

Hilarious

Hope you had a good Easter too!

"There would be no Christmas if there had not been Easter. The babe Jesus of Bethlehem would be but another baby without the redeeming Christ of Gethsemane and Calvary, and the triumphant fact of the Resurrection.
I believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of the Eternal, Living God. None so great has ever walked the earth. None other has made a comparable sacrifice or granted a comparable blessing. He is the Savior and the Redeemer of the world. I believe in Him. I declare His divinity without equivocation or compromise. I love Him. I speak His name in reverence and wonder. I worship Him as I worship His Father, in spirit and in truth. I thank Him and kneel before His Beloved Son who reached out long ago and said to each of us, “Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest."

Something Borrowed

So my friend Sarah and I went out to lunch last weekend and she was telling me about this new movie coming out called "Something Borrowed" with Kate Hudson.  I am a fan since "How To Lose A Guy In 10 Days" is my ALL TIME FAVORITE.  We watched the trailer and decided to read the book together so we could go see it May 6th when it comes out. I downloaded it that day on my nook and read it in about a week. The book: well it was ok...lots of cuss words so it wasn't fun and I just wanted to get it over with.

But that is not to say that I am excited for the movie. I LOVE Kate Hudson. And I liked Gennifer Goodwin on "How To Win A Date With Tad Hamilton" even though this role is totally different.  But you must watch the trailer.

Excited??  So am I.  If you want to join us on May 6th... call me :)

Cookie Recipe

Carly and I are determined to make the perfect chocolate chip cookie.  We had round 1 on Saturday and it was voted a 7...so we are getting there...but last night I made these off a cookie blog I read everyday and they were AMAZING!  I had never thought of the concept of browning the butter but it added the perfect crispness.  And the sea salt on top was surprisingly unreal...go home and make them.   Just be grateful I am sharing the recipe because they were that good.  I will let you know when we have mastered our choc. chip recipe...because we are combining about 5 different recipes.

1 cup butter (2 sticks)

1 1/4 cups light brown sugar
1/4 cup sugar
2 eggs
2 tsp. vanilla
2 3/4 cups flour
1 1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. sea salt
1 bag chocolate chips

*Place butter in a saucepan over medium heat, swirling pan to melt.  Once melted, watch carefully.  It will foam, then boil, then little brown bits will start to form around the sides and bottom of pan.  Once butter turns a golden brown, remove from heat.  Transfer to a glass bowl and let cool for 5 minutes.  Mix both sugars together then add the brown butter, eggs and vanilla.  Mix well.  Add dry ingredients and then chocolate chips.  Scoop onto cookie sheet and sprinkle tops with sea salt.  Bake for 9-10 minutes at 375.  Let cool for 5 minutes on pan before transferring to cooling rack.

Oops

This is how I feel right now.

While I should be doing work, I got distracted and thought of giving my blog a facelift.  In the meantime, I deleted all my "widgets" as they call it and now I have no one's blog addresses, none of my fun pictures, quotes, whatever.  Gone. Not quite sure what the heck happened. I am too tired to care at the moment and too frustrated to even try and do anything about it now.  So if you could please give me your blog addresses it would be much appreciated so I don't have to go and track you all down.  Looks like I will be
starting over.  It really isn't that big of a deal. Did I mention how I am too tired to care that it is all gone?  Good.
Just checking...
