Randomness...

We went to Rocky Point over the weekend
cause it was Carly's boyfriend Jared's birthday.
(That was a mouthful)

He happens to be cousins with Tatum, and I went to
Mesa High with both her and her husband Chase.

I brought my friend Mark.

I really like them together.  It gives me hope again.

This my friends...is the life.

Also...my most recent favorite quotes form Pinterest...

The above one is very true...

And remember when I showed you my wedding dress.
Well I was sadly mistaken.  The below picture is actually my dress.
I think it is kinda weird that I am not even really dating
anyone but I have this thing about wedding dresses.
Call it what you may...but the dress is amazing.

Too bad I am not currently engaged...

I know...it is amazing.

A New Adventure...

Yep.  It is true.  I am moving here for the summer.
It is something I have been tossing around in my mind
for awhile and so finally I just decided I should do it.
I feel like I am suffocating a bit here in Mesa.  I
need a change of scenery and direction.

I almost moved here when I graduated to do an
internship with the International Dyslexia Foundation.
But then I told them I couldn't do it when I received a strong
prompting to move home.

So...I have decided to re-live this dream and move there.
Since I am on salary, it will pay for my expenses and then I
hope to transfer to an Old Navy or Banana Republic
just to work and have extra money.  And I need to
study for the GRE.  I took it in October and got a 900
and I need a 1000 to get into ASU.  I didn't
do as well on the written essay portion (4.5 out of 6)
and I was sad since writing is usually my strong point.
But I will site see, and meet new people and be
in a new ward.  I am so happy!

I have a few friends who live out there
or who have lived out there who
are really helping me find the right place for me to
live.  I am so happy.  I am usually a very careful, planned out person
so to do this so spontaneously is such an awesome feeling!

A Must Read

The Rock

There is a story by a Father Mary about a man who was asleep one night in the cabin, when suddenly his room filled with light and the Savior appeared.  The Lord told him he had a work for him to do, and showed him a large rock explaining that he was to push against that rock with all his might.

This the man did, and for many days he toiled from sun up to sun down, his shoulder set squarely against the cold, massive surface of the rock pushing with all his might.  Each night the man returned to his cabin sore and worn out, feeling that his whole day had been spend in vain.

Seeing that the man was showing sings of disappointment, Satan decided to enter the picture, placing thoughts in the man's mind such as, "Why kill yourself over this; you're never going to move it," or "boy, you've been at it a long time and you haven't even scratched the surface." ect giving the man the impressions because he wasn't moving the massive stone.  These thoughts discouraged and disheartened the man and he started to ease up his efforts.  "why kill myself" he thought, "I'll just put in my time putting forth just the minimum and that will be good enough," and that he did, or at least planned on doing until one day he decided to take his troubles to the Lord.  "Lord," he asked "I have labored long and hard in your service, putting forth all my strength to do that which you have asked me, yet after all this time I haven't even budged that rock half a millimeter.  What is wrong?  Why am I failing?"

To this the Lord responded compassionately, "My friend...when long ago I asked you to serve me and you accepted, I told you to push against the rock with all your strength, and that you have done.  But never once did I mention to you that I expected you to move it!  At least not all by yourself.  Your task was to push!  And now you come to me, your strength spent, thinking that you had failed and ready to quit.  But is that really so?  Look at yourself, your arms are strong and muscled, your back sinewed and brown.  Your hands are callused from constant pressure, and your legs have become massive and hard.  Through opposition, you have grown much and your ability now far surpasses that which you used to have, yet you still haven't succeeded in moving the rock, and you come to me now with a heavy heart and your strength spent.  I, my friend, will move the rock.  Your calling was to be obedient and push, and to exercise your faith and trust in my wisdom."

This story sums up my life :)  We all just need to be a little more obedient and patient with the Lord and place ALL OUR FAITH IN HIM.

Now say a prayer, read your scriptures and the go eat a bowl of ice cream and watch Biggest Loser!!!!

Project 1: Temple Dress

So as I stated previously, I am starting different
projects.  This is project #1.

I went with my friend Kathleen to the fabric store and
found this pattern.  We are adding long sleeves, a higher v neck,
and making a lace belt so I can wear it or take it
off to switch it up.  We found this material
that I absolutely love!  It is very "flowy".
It will be simple and we are not doing
the ruffles around the neck.  It is the temple
and you should never do things that draw attention
to yourself.  I just want one that is sentimental
to me for when I work and eventually get married.

We are even adding a victorian type neck.  It will
be really pretty.  Kathleen is amazing but
she has like 100 other projects
for clients so it will take a couple months.
I am excited to go and spend time with her while
she makes it.  She is an incredible person.
I love her.

Yay!!!

And yes I did cut my hair.  I like it.
I do miss my long hair but it needed to be cut.

It feels healthier.  I am taking flax seed to help
it grow faster.  hahaha.  It's a fun change. :)

This is Lena's baby Tealani.  They
have like 10 names for her but I told
Lena as her "aunt", I will be calling her
Tea'.

So happy her and Sifa have officially
 moved back here!
That means me and Lena and Stacie will
be spending more time together!
I already can't get enough
of my Lena time!

Projects....

Project 1:

I have decided I am going to make a temple dress. Well I won't be making it...my friend Kathleen will be but I will be an incredible supporter and the funder of this project. I decided since I work once a week and I will eventually get married, I would like one that is meaningful and sentimental for me. I would like to get married in my temple dress and not my reception dress. I am going to head to Joanne's tomorrow to look at patterns. I like the one ( pink and black one) above but with a higher neck and sleeves. But I love the ruffles around the neck and the waste band and A-line. It could look so pretty. I think lace around the waste would be pretty and the rest satin.

Project 2:

Also...my bathroom desperately needs a makeover. Thank goodness for Pinterest. I have been gathering ideas.

Project 3:

I need to make a recipe book of my very own. I am thinking of different ideas to compile so not totally sure how I am going to do it. Any ideas?

Wish me luck. I have been needing to be really distracted lately so this will help!!

Haircut time...

It's that time....
for a haircut.  I am over my
long hair and I need a change.

#1
Don't know if I can go this short
and I have never done bangs before.

# 2
I have done this before
and I liked it.

#3
This is more choppy.

I need a picture
to take to Hilary.

What should I do?

This is a time I would
actually be ok with wearing
a wig so I could decide better what I like.
